Dr. Tony Agtarap joined Edmonds Boys & Girls Club in Snohomish County at age eight. In 1984-85, Tony was named National Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He spent a week in Washington, D.C., where he met President Reagan.
During Tony’s first year at Washington State University, he served as national spokesperson for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Tony spent four years at Washington State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He pursued a career in medicine and attended the University of Washington Medical School. Following graduation from medical school, he pursued surgical training at the University of Washington and completed a general surgical internship, followed by four years of subspecialty training in orthopedic surgery.
Tony completed his formal training in 1997 and relocated his family to Olympia where he currently practices at Olympia Orthopedic Associates. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery with interests in orthopedic trauma and disorders of the knee and shoulder.
Tony has remained involved with Boys & Girls Clubs of America during his professional years. He has participated in the Youth of the Year Ambassador Program and attended the 50th anniversary celebration for the Youth of the Year program in Orlando. Since coming to Olympia, he has served as judge for the Washington State Youth of the Year competition and is one of the founding board members for Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County.
